Organic Hempseed Oil
Extracted by cold-pressing the seed of the Cannabis Sativa plant typically found in Eastern Asia, harvesting its ameliorative bio-active components while excluding the Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) compound known for its psychoactive effects. Hemp seed oil possesses an epidermal-replenishing property that remedies and strengthens the skin barrier by improving moisture retention (resulting in supple, hydrated skin), increasing resistance to infection, and reducing negative symptoms from common skin conditions.
Shea Butter
A seed fat originating from the Shea tree native to the West African regions of Ghana, Nigeria and Ugana. The substance is extracted from shea tree nuts and is aesthetically characterized by its smooth, velvety consistency and ivory hue. Shea butter is rich in amino acids and vitamins, making it an excellent cosmetic for conditioning and moisturizing the skin. Its anti-inflammatory properties make it a wise choice to apply against swelling and Erythema (skin redness/irritation), and its anti-oxidant traits can stimulate cell regeneration and collagen production for healthier, toned, and youthful skin.
Colloidal Oats
Processed by mashing oat grain from the Avena Sativa plant into a homogeneous, powder-like substance for cosmetic purposes. When micronized into fine particles, the oats are able to produce a surplus of vitamins, lipids, and other essential minerals conducive to skin nourishment (the FDA have deemed it a skin protectant). Due to its versatility in providing skin care, colllodial oats is a useful ingredient in shampoos, shaving creams, and moisturizers. Being an emollient, Colloidal oats is found to be useful for alleviating dry, itchy skin, symptoms of eczema and psoriasis, and sunburns. It can also be used as an anti inflammatory agent, given it produces a chemical known as avenatharamide, observed to inhibit certain cytokines responsible for inflammatory responses, like the ones found in skin conditions.
